- 4 parts distilled water
- 1 part white vinegar
- 20 drops of essential oil or a combination of oils such as lemon, orange, and lavender
Mix in a spray bottle and use for all your general cleaning needs, such as kitchen and bathroom counters.
Homemade Hand Sanitizer
Yes, you can make homemade hand sanitizer, and it smells better than what you can buy at the store! Here’s what you need:
- 6 tablespoons of aloe vera gel {buy it or use some from your own aloe vera plant}
- 3 tablespoons of rubbing alcohol
- 1 teaspoon vitamin E oil
- 20 drops of tea tree oil
- 10 drops lavender oil
Combine all ingredients in a small bowl, and stir until well mixed. Store in a plastic squeeze tube.
Freshen Up Your Car
Simply put a few drops of your favorite essential oil on a cotton ball that is hot glued to the end of a bobby pin. Now clip the bobby pin onto one of your car vents. Genius! When the scent runs out, just add a few more drops to the cotton ball and you’re good to go.
Whole-House Scent
Before you change your furnace filter, drop a few drops of essential oil onto the filter. Pop it into place, and you’ve got whole-house scent that should last a few days.
