Why Clean Your Toilets Naturally

Why you should you care about how to clean your toilets naturally, when it’s so easy to grab a bottle of toilet bowl cleaner off the grocery store shelves? One of the main ingredients in most toilet bowel cleaners is something called hydrochloric acid. If just the name sounds harmful, it’s because it is! Hydrochloric acid is corrosive and harmful to the environment, not to mention children and pets. Instead of using chemicals like this, clean your toilets naturally with items you probably have in your kitchen pantry right now.

How To Clean Your Toilets Naturally

One way to clean your toilets naturally is with a home steam machine. A good one has tools included for scrubbing surfaces like grout and under the toilet lid. {Try the Bissell Steam Shot at Amazon!}. Steam is a powerful disinfection tool–and hot steam is fantastic at loosening dirt and grime from hard-to-reach places like toilet bowls. A good steamer heats up in under a minute, so a good steam clean is quick and effective. Try it!

Another way to clean your toilets naturally is with items found in your pantry. Think of the fizzing action you get when you combine baking soda and vinegar and put that to work for you. Simply add 1/2 cup of baking soda to the water in the toilet bowl. Stir to dissolve the baking soda, and then pour in one cup of white vinegar. As it fizzes, use your toilet brush to spread the solution up under the rim and loosen grime. Let the baking soda and vinegar mixture sit until fizzing stops, then give it another scrub and flush everything away.

You can also use Borax from your laundry plus lemon juice to clean your toilets naturally. Lemon juice is great against mineral build-up under the toilet rim!
