- Add a small chain or wire and a key chain ring to your zipper and tie it around the button to keep loose zippers up!
- Don’t just throw away your favorite old pair of shoes because they have a hole in them! Use some fabric to patch them up and you can wear them again!
- If you get makeup smudges on your clothes, no need to worry anymore! Apply some shaving cream to foundation stains and they should come right out!
- Sweat stains are super obnoxious. But an easy way to fix them is to use vinegar, baking soda, salt, and hydrogen peroxide. Create a paste, rub it in, rinse, and repeat until the stain is gone!
- When your favorite jeans rip, it can be sad. But fix it with a few patches of fabric that look great and solve the problem!
- I hate when a loose string pops out. Tie a bobby pin around it and then tuck it back to on the inside of your clothes!
- If you get some gum on your clothes, no worry. Scrape as much off as you can, and then freeze the article of clothing. Take it out a few hours later and you should be able to chip away at the gum!
- For stuck zippers, take a crayon or other waxy material and rub it on the teeth. The zipper should slide right up.
- Get rid of grease stains by applying chalk to them. This absorbs the grease and lightens up or completely removes the stain.
- Get rid of ink stains by applying hairspray and hand sanitizer to them and then rinsing out the clothes.
- Fix a run in your nylon by putting some clear nail polish over it! You can also do this to secure buttons.
- Brighten up tennis shoes by applying nail polish remover to them and washing them off!
- Prevent sweaters from shredding by putting them in a bag in the freezer the night before you wear them.
- You can also stick your jeans or shoes in a bag and then put them in the freezer to fight odor.
- Try getting paint off your clothes by getting it wet with water and using a brush dipped in rubbing alcohol and then laundering like normal.
- Remove scuffs from suede shoes by using a nail file! Easy and super quick!
- Take old boots and repaint them to give your rain boots a brand new feel!
- Deal with water stains on leather by dipping a toothbrush in vinegar and water and brushing them out!
- Get rid of scuffs on your patent leather by dipping a cotton swab in petroleum jelly and rubbing them down!
- Apply some moisturizer to your dull and scratched leather shoes to get them looking healthy and brand new again.
- If you spill red wine, dilute it with white wine, dab the excess, and then wash like normal.
- Add some baking soda to the insides of your shoes to kill odors and make them last longer!
- Don’t just throw away your bras if a wire is sticking out. Put a piece of adhesive moleskin over the wire to fix the problem!
- Dawn dish soap is great for removing oil stains on delicate clothes. It cleans but isn’t so abrasive that it ruins the material.
- Get rid of deodorant stains by using a baby wipe. Just wipe down the stain and your clothes will look like new!

Zippers need oil not wax. Wd40, Car oil, etc. I’m a seamstress and repair zippers for a living.
