One of the most common uses for Kool Aid around the home is in the dishwasher. If you put lemon or another citrus Kool Aid powder in the soap dispenser and then run the empty dishwasher, it will help break down gunk and other build up in your dishwasher!

Pour a bit of citrus Kool Aid in your toilet, let it sit for a while, and then scrub like normal. The citric acids in the powder help eat away any nasty grime that may have built up on the toilet. Plus, it leaves it smelling fresh!

Use some Kool Aid to dye clothespins and other spare pieces of wood! It’s a fun and easy project that will add a bit of color to whatever you need them for!

I bet you didn’t know you could dye all natural yarn with Kool Aid, did you? First, wash the yarn gently in baby shampoo. Then, add the color of Kool Aid you want to some water. The rule is about 1-2 packs for ounce of yarn. Put the yarn in the water and heat it up until the water is boiling. Cover the pot, turn of the heat, and let it sit or an hour. Then pull it out!

Use a mixture of water and citric Kool Aid to get rid of rust stains on your cement! Just add a few drops to the mixture to get a paste, put it on the stain, and then scrub it with a toothbrush.

Dye eggs with Kool Aid! It’s a safe and natural alternative to many other options. Just add 2/3 cup of water for one packet, mix, and then place your hardboiled egg in. leave it until it gets to the color you want.

Test for leaks in your toilet tank by using Kool Aid! Put a dark colored Kool Aid powder in the tank and let it sit for a while. If the water in your toilet bowl is that color, then you know there’s a leak.

Make some colorful and scented window cling art with Kool Aid! Just mix it with glue, form it into the shapes you want, and then let them dry!

You can also make fantastic colored and scented Play-Doh by using Kool Aid! Mix together 1 cup of flour, ¼ cup salt, 1 teaspoon cream of tartar, 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, 2  Kool Aid packets, and ¾ cup water. Mix over medium heat until it gets to the right consistency!

Add ¼ cup citric acid (Lemonade) Kool Aid powder to your washing machine to help clean out gunk and grime! Just run it on a regular cycle without any clothes and repeat this until you feel the washing machine is nice and clean!
