For a wrinkle-free vacation, you need to know how to pack an organized suitcase. Because when you get wherever it is you’re going, no one wants to deal with wrinkled clothing. Take a few minutes and familiarize yourself with these tips for efficient and organized packing. You’ll be glad you did!

Start with a packing list. Think about where you’re going, what the weather is projected to be like, and what activities you’re going to participate in. Jot down what items you’ll need for the weather and those activities. Now, look at it again and see where you can slim down the list. One way to trim the list down is to pack bottoms that are all in the neutral color family. Then add colored tops you can coordinate or mix-and-match with the bottoms for your entire trip. It’s always a good idea to pack as lightly as possible, especially when traveling internationally. Sticking to the list you made is a great way to ensure that you have organized suitcase for your trip.

Make sure you pack your suitcase with the heaviest items in the bottom, and the more easily wrinkled items on top. Pants and jeans are excellent items to roll up, because they don’t wrinkle easily. You will fit more items into your suitcase if you roll those items than if you stack them. The clothing items that do wrinkle easily should be put into a dry cleaning bag. Pack this bag last, laying it carefully on top of everything else in the suitcase. When you arrive at your hotel or other destination, remove the dry cleaning bag as soon as you can and hang it so any wrinkles that may have occurred in travel have a chance to fall out before you plan on wearing the article of clothing.

Of course, shoes belong in the bottom of your suitcase, but don’t forget about the wasted space inside! Stuff the inside of your shoes with small items such as your socks, a pair of sunglasses, or other tiny items you don’t want to lose track of. A great hack is to toss those small items into a plastic sandwich bag and then stuff the entire thing into one of your shoes.

Enjoy your “wrinkle-free” vacation with your delightfully organized suitcase!
