- Heat some water just until it begins to boil.
- Drop the jewelry you wish to clean into the bottom of a clean glass cup or bowl.
- Pour the hot water directly over your jewelry in the glass. Let it sit for about 10 minutes. The water should be cool enough to touch before proceeding.
- Add a small drop of dishwashing liquid to the water, and use the toothbrush to stir the jewelry and create some suds.
- Pick up the jewelry one piece at a time. Use the toothbrush to lightly brush each piece and remove dirt and debris. Pay attention to the little nooks and crannies where dirt collects. Lay the pieces on a soft towel.
