Many oven cleaners contain incredibly toxic chemicals that are incredibly dangerous if ingested or inhaled. Avoid the stress and trouble of worrying about having such dangerous chemicals around and try a natural (and easy) oven cleaning solution. Here are the steps!
Remove Racks
First thing to do is remove the oven racks. Clean and brush off as much as you can; the big stuff should come off pretty easily. Set them off to the side and (if you want) you can put them in a bath of warm or hot soapy water to clean even better.
Baking Soda
Take your baking soda (about a cup, although it depends on the oven size) and spread it around inside the oven. Make sure it’s in as many spots as possible.
Vinegar
Then, take your vinegar (preferably in a spray bottle) and squirt it inside your oven, mixing with the baking soda. Another way to do this is mix the vinegar and baking soda beforehand and just spread the paste around, but either way works. Make sure you mix the two together really well and then let it sit anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour (depending on how dirty your oven is).
Wipe Clean
Now all you need to do is wipe away the paste and all the dirty gunk should come off easily! You can repeat this process if necessary, or use the self-cleaning mode once you’ve cleaned the whole inside. Reinsert the racks and you’re good to go!
