Cleaning personalities–is there such a thing? Yes, there really is! It goes beyond just having a love-hate relationship with cleaning. Knowing your cleaning personality is important, because it can help you recognize ways to improve on your efforts, or even maximize the time you spend cleaning. Check out these common cleaning personalities. You never know, you just might enjoy a little laugh, too!

Common Cleaning Personalities

Clean Freak

The clean freak LOVES cleaning–to the point of being obsessive about it. This is the person who hires a maid if they have the money to pay one. This is also the type of cleaning personality that goes to great lengths to prevent having to do unnecessary cleaning. That includes shutting off rooms in the house so that no one can use {or dirty} them! A clean freak has a place for everything and everything in its place. So it’s not necessarily all bad to be a clean freak!

Procrastinator {Or NOT Clean Freak}

The cleaning personalities who really hate to clean are the ones who will put it off for as long as humanely possible. This also leads to a home that is disorganized and cluttered, because a procrastinator isn’t someone who digs in and gets things done quickly. The procrastinator’s motto is still “why do today what you can put off until tomorrow?” Not such a great thing if you want a clean house!

Hoarder

You’ve seen those hoarding shows on tv–and if you haven’t, trust me, it’s horrifying for a clean freak. Because the hoarder is someone who hangs on to everything! So much so, that they’ll make a place for it where there isn’t one. The old “a place for everything and everything in its place” does not apply to a hoarder. All hoarding does is make it impossible to keep everything clean, simply because there’s too much stuff to sift through.

Professional Organizer

This version of the cleaning personalities is the exact opposite of a hoarder. This person is pretty obsessed with organizing and de-cluttering. Their surroundings are probably pretty basic, but there’s no problem keeping everything clean. It’s all easy to see and easy to access!

The Laid-Back Cleaner

This cleaning personality just might be the best, because it’s pretty much a happy medium. This person is happy to clean the house when it needs it, and usually keeps up on things like bathrooms and vacuuming weekly. They don’t obsess, and if anyone shows up at the door unexpectedly, so be it! A laid-back cleaner is probably the first to know how to get a tidy home in just 10 minutes.

Those are the most common cleaning personalities. What type are you?
