Cleaning your shower just got easier {and cheaper!} because today we have all you need to know to make the best homemade cleaning solution for the shower. The ingredients for this solution are most likely already in your pantry. If they’re not, no worries. These items are readily available and cost much less than those expensive cleaning solutions you’ve been buying off the shelves at your local grocer’s. Are you ready for the lowdown?
Vinegar + Baking soda + Lemon
The time-honored combination of white vinegar and baking soda, plus a little fresh lemon, is all you need to make the best homemade cleaning solution for your shower. Why and how does it work? It’s no secret that vinegar is like a bomb that destroys hard water and mineral build-up, and lemon provides an extra boost. Vinegar is also an anti-bacterial and anti-viral agent. Baking soda by itself is a mild abrasive, and provides some scrubbing oomph to remove dirt and stains from the surfaces of the tub and tile walls. Put the baking soda and vinegar together, and you get a fizzing action that also helps breakdown dirt and stains.
The best homemade cleaning solution recipe
This is the easiest part! All you have to do is combine equal parts baking soda and vinegar in a small bowl. Mix until it forms a loose paste as you see in the picture above. Cut a large lemon in half and use the halves to apply the baking soda + vinegar solution to the shower surfaces. As you do, squeeze some of the lemon juice into the paste for extra cleaning power, plus an amazing fresh scent!
Once you have applied this homemade cleaning solution for the shower to all the surfaces, including glass shower doors, let it sit and work a little magic. If you have hard water, this is especially important. A little sitting time allows the vinegar and lemon time to breakdown those mineral deposits. After sitting, feel free to use a scrubbing sponge to go over all the surfaces once more. Now rinse everything with plenty of warm water. Look at that sparkling clean shower!

I’d love to read your recipes but cant seem to get them. I keep tapping on “wrappedinrust” and it brings me back to the dryer sheets.
I hope that you make it more accessible. I’ll admit, I’m not hugely tech savvy, but, I am a teacher and on the computer all day.
