Do you sometimes (always?) have a difficult time getting yourself out of bed in the morning? Who doesn’t, right? I mean, who wants to leave their nice, cozy bed and face the uncertainty of another day at 6:30 am? Well, since we’re all adults here, we know getting out of bed is a daily occurrence — preferably. So let’s talk about a few ways to get out of bed and set yourself up for an easier morning.
1. An Agressive Alarm
It might provide sort of a rude awakening, but an alarm clock that makes you get out of bed is sure to get you going early, rather than hitting the snooze 2 or 3 times. There’s the one that rolls around on the floor so you have to chase it down to turn it off. Then there’s the one that shoots off somewhere so you have to find it and put it back on its base. If your a fitness lover try the Shape Up, which looks like a dumbbell and makes you do 30 reps before it shuts off.
2. Change Your Bedtime Routine
How many nights do you fall asleep in front of your favorite Netflix binge? It’s tempting, but falling asleep after watching a screen (big or small) can actually compromise the quality of your sleep. You’d be better off to take the TV out of your room and leave your phone and computer alone for a while before you go to bed, and read instead.
3. Work Out
Training your body that it needs to get some exercise in the morning will motivate you to get out of bed and improve your outlook for the day. Really! Get outside, do some calisthenics, or hit the gym with a friend.
4. Get a Pet
Nothing encourages you to get out of bed than knowing your dog REALLY needs to go out. Better yet, take him for a walk and get the exercise done for both of you. It’ll benefit your pet’s health, not to mention your own.
