- Clean your dishwasher by adding some lemon Kool-Aid to the soap dispenser. Run it through a full cycle. This should help break down built-up grime.
- Cleaning up messes and spills in the fridge can get to be a bit disgusting. A great way to deal with this is to put plastic wrap or wax paper on the shelves and then, when something does spill, you just pull off the paper and replace it!
- The best way to get a clean kitchen is to have an organized kitchen! Take an old shutter and add some hooks and pegboards to create a hanging storage piece for all of your baking supplies.
- If your knives and other items are getting a bit more rust on them, then use some lemon juice to remove the rust! Rub it onto the spots and the stains will vanish. A bit of elbow grease is needed, though!
- If your garbage can is smelly, then tackle the odor with some baking soda. Pour a bit of it in the can and it should help deodorize. You can also add some essential oils if you want to!
- To treat smelly kitchen, make some stovetop potpourri. It’s pretty easy and it will make your entire home smell great!
- Help prevent your kitchen sink from clogging by pouring hot water down the drain every now and then.
- I love cheese, but using a cheese grater can always leave things pretty messy. Grate a potato on your grater and it will help clean off all the stuck-on cheese!
- Put some vinegar in a bowl and microwave it for a few minutes. Take the bowl out and now you can easily wipe away gunk that used to be stuck on!
- Cut a lemon in half and use it to clean water stains off of chrome! Just rub it on the material and rinse it until the spots are gone!
- Take a bit of cream of tartar and create a paste using water. Rub it on any gunky stainless steel appliances, and then wipe with a washcloth. Your toaster will look brand new!
- You can also use glass cleaner to clean bigger stainless steel appliances (like a fridge). Just make sure to follow the directions on the bottle!
- Don’t set a sponge on its side after using it. Instead, clip it into a binder clip to keep it standing up. This allows it to drain and prevents any mildew from forming.
- Make sure you vacuum your refrigerator coils every now and then. It makes things so much cleaner and safer!
- After you’ve cleaned your glass stove top, rub in some car wax to keep it looking cleaner longer.
- Put some kosher salt on your cutting board and use half a lemon to really rub it in. This helps deodorize and sanitize the cutting board, without harming wooden ones!
- Make a paste out of baking soda and vinegar and apply it to your oven. Let it sit for a while and then wipe off. This will remove any of that pesky baked on gunk.
- Fill a bag with ammonia and stick your stove top burners in it. Leave them for a few hours and and gunk will wipe right off.
- Clean your sink with baking soda. It’s a natural solution and really makes it shine!
- Get your garbage disposal clean by putting a mixture of lemon, ice, and salt down it. Run the disposal and it should clear things out.
- Stick a dryer sheet in your dirty pans, fill them with hot water, and let them sit overnight. The next day, you should be able to easily clean them up without a scouring pad.
- A great way to clean a blender is to simply fill it with soap and hot water (after you’ve used it) and then run the blender for a few seconds. So much easier!
- Add borax to your dish washer to help your dishes get clean of water spots!
- Make a mixture of vinegar and salt to clean copper pots. It’s a great natural and effective solution!
- Clean your stove hood by heating up water, adding some baking soda, and then putting your stove hood in it. Leave it for a while to see the grease and gunk melt off of it!
