- If you have a pet, then use a squeegee to easily pick up their hair from the carpet and other fabrics. Just run the squeegee over the surface and it should wad up all the hair that you can then grab and throw away.
- Another great way to control pet hair is to use a rubber glove. The texture of the gloves makes it easy to pick up hair and just throw it away.
- Use half a lemon to clean and polish your chrome hardware. Simply rub it on the chrome until the water stains go away and it’s back to shining like new!
- Mix together your favorite essential oil and some baking soda. Use a sifter to sprinkle this mixture over your mattress. Let it sit for a bit and then vacuum it up—it’s a super easy way to clean your mattress.
- Another great use for baking soda is to mix it with vinegar and apply the paste to your oven. Leave it on there for a while and then you should be able to wipe any gunk off pretty easily!
- A great way to clean your house is to not have it get dirty in the first place! Have an entryway with a heavy duty doormat and a place to store all shoes so dirt and grime doesn’t come in!
- Put some ammonia in a bag and then stick your burners in it! Let it sit for a few hours and any stuck on gunk should now easily come off of your burners!
- Instead of scrubbing and scraping at your microwave’s stains, fill a bowl with vinegar and turn on the microwave for about 2 minutes. You should now be able to easily wipe off any of that gunk!
- To clean your dishwasher without taking the whole thing apart, just poor some lemon Kool-Aid into the soap dispenser. Run an empty cycle and the acid in the powder will help clear away any built up grime.
- You can also use lemon Kool-Aid to clean your toilet. Just sprinkle the powder into the bowl and rub it around with the toilet brush. It both cleans and deodorizes!
- If you have some dishes that have some food that just won’t come off, then this hack may just change your life! Put a dryer sheet at the bottom of the pot or pan and fill it with hot water. Let it sit overnight and the stain should come easily out the next day.
- Cut a lemon and pour some kosher salt on your cutting board. Use the lemon half to rub the salt into the board. This helps clean, disinfect, and deodorize your cutting board without harsh chemicals!
- To polish your stainless steel appliances, use some cream of tartar! Simply apply it to the surface and buff it with a cloth. Wipe of any excess cream of tartar.
- Shower curtain liners can get pretty nasty pretty fast. Instead of tediously wiping it down, just throw it in the washing machine to get it clean!
- Use a pillowcase to clean dust off of your fan blades. Just wrap the pillowcase around each blade and then pull back; the dust will collect at the bottom of the pillowcase!
- Use a dryer sheet to rub down your baseboards. This not only removes gunk from them, but also picks up dust and helps prevent dust from settling there in the future.
- Fill a bag with vinegar and then wrap it around your showerhead. Leave it there for a while and then simply remove the bag. Your showerhead should now be less clogged and work better!
- Apply some car wax to your glass stovetop once you’ve cleaned it really well. This will help keep it shiny and also prevent any spills from sticking and staining.
- Mix together some Dawn dish soap and a bit of warm water. Dip a rag in the mixture and use it to remove any grease or other sticky stains from your kitchen cabinets.
- To prevent water stains on your shower door, use Rain-X! Just apply it to the inside of the door and the water will roll right off, making it stay cleaner longer.
- Instead of struggling with a feather duster when it comes to dusting your lampshades, try a lint roller instead. It works a lot better and doesn’t damage you lampshade!
- Freeze lemon and salt into ice cubes. Then put these down your garbage disposal. The lemon, salt, and ice grind away at the gunk and help deodorize the pipe!
- Put your hand in a sock and use it to clean your blinds. It’s an easy and fast way to do this because you can clean both sides of the blinds and you have better control over the cleaner!
- Use a foam paintbrush to clean your vents. Just slide the foam brush between the slats to pick up any dust and gunk that’s settled in!
