If you’re lucky enough to have a craft room — or even a craft closet — you’ve probably found that it tends to get cluttered. When you’re busy with projects, you don’t usually pay much attention to keeping things neat. However, when you start your next project, it’s sure nice to be able to find everything! To help you out, here are some nifty craft room organization ideas to get you going.

1. Peg Board — A Big One

A large peg board can do wonders for craft organization. Use it to hang wrapping paper, gift bags, baskets, tote bags, spools of ribbon, hanging files full of paper, and more. Paint it whatever color you want, and even surround it with trim.

2. Cube Cubby

These are great for organizing extra fabric and other supplies. Get the colored inserts and it’ll look great, too.

3. Hanging Paint Storage

Out of two cheap wire shelves, you can easily make this hanging storage solution for all your craft paints.

4. Ribbon Bar

Use a ribbon bar for spools of ribbon, burlap, washi tape, and more. It hangs easily on the wall, and you can remove the bar to easily get things on and off.

5. Hanging Cubby

Those hanging cubbies you use in your closet to store shoes or sweaters are ideal for storing craft supplies such as yarn and fabric.

6. File Your Fabric

Drape folded fabric over hanging filed folders for a neat way to store it. Cut the folders in half at the fold, and you can get two fabric “hangers” for every folder.

7. Ribbon Jar

Look how fun this is. Get your ribbon and instead of storing it on the spool, wrap it around craft sticks and store it in a clear glass jar. Cute!

8. DIY Washi Tape Dispenser

Get a sturdy, empty foil box and remove the roll. Put your washi tape on the roll and voila! Your very own dispenser. Nifty!
