Never buy dryer sheets again! Here are a few ways to make your own homemade dryer sheets!
Homemade Dryer Sheets
Sponges and Fabric Softener
This is such an easy idea. All you need is an air tight container, 4-6 sponges, 2 cups fabric softener, and 4-5 cups water. Stir fabric softener and water together in the bucket, add the sponges and leave them in there to soak.
When needed: squeeze out one of the sponges and put it in the dryer with your load of wet clothes, when they are dry put the sponge back into the container. You can refill the container as needed but that should only be twice a year or less! So simple and easy, right?
Essential Oil Fabric Scraps
Here’s what you need: vinegar, sealable glass, fabric scraps (or any old cotton fabric), and your favorite essential oil (or combination of oils). How to do it: cut the scraps into squares. Mix up the solution..1/2 cup of vinegar, 8-10 drops of your favorite essential oils. Pour your personalized scented softening solution into the resealable container. Add your fabric squares to the container and let them absorb the mixture. Store them in the air tight container, and when you’re ready to use them ring out a few squares and throw them into the dryer!
Reususable Homemade Dryer sheets
This is a similar concept except these will be completely dried before using. Thoroughly soak your {clean} rags in fabric softener of your choice. Once completely soaked, take the towels out and let them dry COMPLETELY. You can even hang them outside or inside over your shower rod. After the rags are completely dry, store them in a container in your laundry room! To Use: Throw one rag in with each load of clothes. You can reuse the rags over and over before needing to dip and re-dry again!
