If you have lamps that have thin, metal shades or that are made of parchment, a vacuum will suck up all of the dust quickly and easily! Just add an attachment piece, and run your vacuum across the surface and around the inside until all of the dust is gone. It’s really fast and efficient!
If you have plastic lampshades, you can actually wash them. First, detach the lampshade. Then get some warm water and add just a little bit of mild soap to it. Once your soapy mixture is made, grab a cloth or put the lampshade directly into the water and wash off any of the dirt build up that has accumulated over time. Once the lampshade has been washed, dry it really well. To add some shine, just spray on a little bit of furniture polish to a dry cloth and rub it on the shade.
The easiest way to dust off a lampshade is to use a lint roller or microfiber cloth. These are great tools to easily remove dust and works great to get the job done quickly. Just rub one of them down your lampshade and in seconds, all of the dust will be gone.
