Take a combination of lemon rinds, salt, and ice and pour it down the garbage disposal while it’s running. The lemon makes it smell good while the ice and salt rub at the grime inside.
Get rid of that nasty toilet ring without much work at all. You just need to cut off a piece of Magic Eraser, let it sit in the toilet overnight, and then the next morning the ring will scrub right off!
Don’t scrub at your burners for hours. Instead, take the burners off, put them in a bag filled with ammonia, and leave them for a few hours. When you take them back out, the grime will scrape right off!
The same goes for your microwave. Fill a bowl with vinegar and water, put it in the microwave and run it for a while, and then scrub the inside of the microwave. All the gunk should slide right off.
Take a packet of lemon Kool-Aid and pour it in the soap dispenser in the dishwasher. Run the dishwasher and this will both clean and deodorize the machine.
For dirty dishes with stuck-on food, try this. Take a dryer sheet, put it in the pot, fill it with hot water, and let this sit overnight. The next morning, the food should scrub right off without a problem.
Clean your showerhead by filling a bag with vinegar and tying it around the showerhead. Let it sit like this for a few hours and the vinegar will dissolve any buildup inside the showerhead. Super easy!
Take your stove vent filters and soak them in hot water mixed with baking soda. Some people like to have the water boiling, but that’s not always necessary. This mixture will melt away any grime on the filters.
Make a mixture of your favorite essential oils and baking soda. Put them in a sifter and sprinkle them all over your mattress. Let it sit for a few hours and then vacuum it up. This both deodorizes and cleans your mattress without much work.
Collect pet hair by using a squeegee. Simply run the squeegee across the carpet or furniture and it will pull up any fur. Then just grab the clump of hair and toss it.
Deep clean your wooden cutting board by using the open side of a lemon and salt. Scrub the salt into the cutting board with your lemon and then rinse the cutting board.
Get rid of hard water stains on your faucet and knobs by making a mixture of dish soap, vinegar and lemon juice. Soak the hardware in it for a while, and then scrub and rinse. The water stains should come right off.
Run vinegar through the brew cycle of your coffee machine and this will clean it out for you. I would suggest rinsing it a few times before you make coffee, though, so it doesn’t take like vinegar.
Take some cream of tartar and rub it on your stainless steel toaster. After it sits for a while, scrub and wipe it off. Any stains or spots should be gone.
Use an open lemon to clean water stains off of chrome objects. Simply rub the lemon on the chrome, wipe and rinse it off, and repeat until the chrome is sparkling again!
Take a pumice stone and use it to clean stains on your porcelain tub, toilet, or sink. You can also use a pumice stone to clean stains around drains. Always test this on a small area first, to make sure it doesn’t damage the material.
Make a paste out of baking soda and water and then put it on your iron. Let it sit for a while and wipe it off. Any stains should come right off.
Mix together laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent and bleach. Take this mixture and use it to turn yellow pillows white again!
If you have a carpet stain, try this trick. Plug your iron in and get a cloth wet. Set the cloth over the stain and then put the iron on that. This should essentially steam the stain right out.
For oil stains on leather, use baby powder. Just let the baby powder sit on the stain for a while and it will absorb most (if not all) of the oil stain. Awesome!
Use a flathead mop and some all purpose cleaner to clean high walls. Put the cleaner on the mop and then reach up high with the mop to get rid of dust, dirt, and other stains up high on your wall.
After you clean your glass shower door, apply some Rain-X to it. This will prevent water from sticking to it, which stops hard water stains from forming.
