- Add wheels to any storage bins you may have under the bed. This makes accessing them a lot easier, and also putting them back a lot easier, meaning the room will be cleaner!
- I love a good bedside organizer. It’s pretty much a flap that sits under the mattress, giving your son extra pockets to store his toys off the side of the bed.
- Use magnets to store toy cars. Attach the magnets to shelves and let the cars stay there when they aren’t being played with.
- You can also use tubes to store the toy cars. Simply cut the PVC pipe or other tube material into the length of toy cars, then stack them and attach them to each other.
- Bins for toys or clothes are a great way to store things and create a nice, organized feel. You can keep them in the closet, on a shelve, or wherever else looks best.
- Pegboard has so many uses, including as organization for your son’s bedroom. Use it to store toys, coats, backpacks, or whatever else storage is needed for.
- Put some baskets on the wall to add more storage space and make organizing that much easier. Keep them at arm length so your son can reach them without your help every time.
- Make a play table that also doubles as storage! You can keep storage in the chairs, leg of the table, and anywhere else around the base.
- Things like benches, chairs, and even the side of the bed can be used for storage. Buy (or make) furniture that doubles as seating and storage.
- Most boys like video games, so make sure you have a way for your son to keep his games organized and in good condition.
- Color code the Legos so that it’s that much easier for your son to play with the Legos and use them whenever he wants to. Have separate bins for the colors.
- Add storage on the back of the closet door for holding books. You just need a little miniature shelf to keep the books in place and you’re good!
- Use old coffee cans to store and organize toys and other equipment. You can even put a picture on the outside of the can of the toy that’s inside to keep things even more organized.
- Crates are both a great storage device and also look great in a boy’s room! They’re rustic looking and really sturdy, which is usually just what a boy wants!
- Pare down on space and put puzzles in a bag. Cut the picture out of the front of the box and put that in the bag as well. Now you have the puzzle but it takes up a fraction of the space.
- I love these see through toy sacks! They look great, help you stay organized, and let your son know exactly what kind of toy or item is in each one.
- Make a fun and unique storage ottoman that looks like a giant Lego! Not only will it make the room look great, but it also helps your son stay organized.
- Make a treasure box for your son that he can use to store all the random stuff that he brings home. Whether it’s a rock, some shells, or a cool looking coin, the treasure box will act like a catch-all that stops the mess from spreading everywhere.
- Cubbies are super effective and help things stay a lot more organized. Have bins or baskets in the cubbies to make things look even neater.
- Make a desk organizer out of Lego pieces. Simply make a tall and hollow cube and store your son’s pens, pencils, and other supplies in it!
