As far as DIY cleaning solutions go, vodka (and hey, the cheaper the better) is actually right up there with vinegar. Here are some clever vodka cleaning hacks that will have you singing the praises of this versatile elixir.
1. Room Diffusers
You can make your own room scent diffusers with vodka, essential oils, water, and mineral oil.
2. Mattress Disinfectant
Your mattress can harbor all kinds of undesirable stuff. It really does need to be disinfected on a regular basis. Lucky for you, you can use vodka to make your own mattress cleaner.
3. Sticker Remover
Next time you find yourself with sticky residue left behind by stickers or labels, you can get rid of it with vodka. Just soak a rag and rub.
4. Glass & Chrome Cleaner
Vodka does a great job shining your chrome and cleaning your glass streak-free. Just spray and wipe with a lint-free cloth.
5. Soap Scum Remover
Got soap scum? Spray cheap vodka directly on the area, let it sit for 10-15 minutes, and wipe it away. Easy!
6. Jewelry Cleaner
Ring looking dingy? Let it soak in vodka for a few minutes, or dip a cloth in it and wipe it down. You’ll get great results.
7. Mold Killer
In places that are prone to mold, you can use vodka to kill if off and clean it up.
8. DIY Mouthwash
Mix some vodka with a few drops of spearmint, tea tree, or peppermint essential oils. After you let it sit for a couple of weeks, you’ll have a powerful (and high octane!) mouthwash.
