There are lots of things you can clean with Q-tips {besides your ears}. That soft little cotton swab is perfect for the tightest of spaces. However, you may have heard doctors say that your ears shouldn’t be one of them, because you risk perforating your ear drums. So instead, play it safe and check out this list of other things to clean with Q-tips. They really do come in handy!
Best Things To Clean With Q-tips
In The Kitchen:
- The best thing to clean with Q-tips in the kitchen is hands down the Instant Pot. You know that tiny crevice that runs around the top of the pot? If you haven’t cleaned it lately you should take a look at it. It’s notorious for building up with gunk–because it’s tiny and not easily noticed. But just wet a Q-tip and use it to clean out that gunk. If you do this after every use, it’ll stay clean.
- How about the tray inside the water dispenser on your refrigerator door? There are little crevices in there that tend to attract hard water and mineral build-up. Use a Q-tip dipped in white vinegar to clean it weekly. No more build-up!
In The Bathroom:
- Hard water build-up around the base of your bathroom faucets is another spot where a Q-tip can reach. Use white vinegar and a Q-tip to loosen and remove that gunk.
Around The House:
- Use a Q-tip moistened with water to clean around the keys of your laptop keyboard.
- Clean the crevices around your smart phone screen with a moistened Q-tip. Make sure it’s not dripping wet!
- The buttons around your television remote get pretty dirty. Use a Q-tip moistened with water to remove tiny crumbs, dust and other debris trapped in there.
- Do you care for houseplants? Q-tips work well when transplanting or propagating plants. Use one to clean up infected roots or to apply rooting medium to cuttings.
Personal Uses:
- Q-tips are wonderful for cleaning up the skin around your nails after a home mani-pedi. Just dip the tip in nail polish remover to remove any stray polish around your nails.
- In a pinch, use Q-tips to apply your eye shadow. They work really well for the crease!
