Baseboard cleaning hacks may not be at the top of your list, but that’s probably because cleaning baseboards probably isn’t either! Am I right? It’s just one of those jobs we tend to forget. But clean baseboards have a way of making your entire home look and feel better. So let’s talk baseboard cleaning hacks to make that job as easy as possible.
Baseboard Cleaning Hacks
Grab A Magic Eraser
If your baseboards are painted, one of the easiest ways to clean them is with a Magic Eraser. Just grab one or two plus a bucket of warm, soapy water. Dip the Magic Eraser in the soapy water and you can pretty easily wipe away dust and scuff marks from your baseboards. Easy! Here are some clever ways to use Magic Erasers.
Baseboard Cleaning Hacks: Dryer Sheets Trick!
Use dryer sheets to help you dust your baseboards. Not only that, the dryer sheet leaves behind some magic that helps to repel dust from your baseboards for longer. So clean them and keep them clean longer with this easy hack!
Fancier, sculpted baseboards don’t work with this hack, but if your baseboards are flat this is a great option. Use your Swiffer broom and dust cloths {or just the cloth} to regularly dust the fronts and along the tops of your baseboards. If you already Swiffer your floors, this just adds a few extra minutes to the task.
Microfiber Cloths
For baseboards that are just dusty, grab a dry microfiber cloth to wipe away the dust. For spots that are grimy or scuffed, use a second cloth with a general purpose cleaning solution like Mrs. Meyers heavenly Basil scent!
For Stubborn Dirt
Sometimes, stubborn dirt and dust seems to cement itself to baseboards. This is where a soft bristle brush {or even an old toothbrush} comes in really handy! Just use the brush to loosen up those grimy areas. Then use a magic sponge or damp microfiber cloth to wipe it away.
