If Dingy Whites Are Your Problem, Here’s The Solution
If dingy whites are your problem, I get it. Dingy whites are one of my pet peeves. Seriously! If something is white, it needs to be white. Keeping those whites bright can be a challenge, but not with this homemade laundry whitening solution. All you need are a few easy ingredients to achieve the brightest whites ever.
- Your regular clothes detergent
- Powdered dish detergent
- Liquid bleach
- Borax
How To Use The Homemade Laundry Whitening Solution
First of all, be sure to wash your whites in the hottest water possible. Fill the machine according to the load size {and no bigger} with hot water. Add your regular clothes detergent. Now add one cup of your favorite powdered dish detergent and one cup of bleach. Throw in 1/2 cup of Borax. Allow the machine to agitate to thoroughly dissolve the powders. You want everything incorporated into the hot water before you add the whites.
Once the homemade laundry whitening solution is dissolved and waiting, add the whites to the washing machine. Allow the machine to agitate again to thoroughly wet all of your dingy whites. Now is a great time to let the load soak. If your machine has a pre-soak cycle, use it to get the most out of the whitening solution. Then let the machine run as normal.
Pull your whites out of the washer, and if you want even more whitening power, let them dry in the sun. Otherwise, run them through your dryer as you normally would. Say hello to beautiful, whiter whites! While you’re here, make sure you aren’t making this number one laundry mistake.
