Spending your whole weekend cleaning is not the most glamorous way to use your time. Don’t be one of those people (like me) that let the mess in their house just build up until they can’t take it anymore. Here are some quick and simple things that you can do every day for a clean house.
Put Things Back
Don’t let pans, dishes, clothes, and other items just sit around your home when they aren’t being used. Whenever you finish with something, put it right back where it goes (or in the dirty clothes or dishwasher). Did you get the scissors out? Don’t leave them on the counter, but put them back in the drawer. This is a simple and easy way to keep your house looking clean.
Laundry
Depending on the size of your family, you can alter this one a little bit. Usually, a good rule to follow is to throw a load of laundry into the washer first thing in the morning. Then go through your normal morning routine, and before you head to work or go run errands, throw the clothes in the dryer. It’ll take less than 5 minutes to get the clothes into the machines and you won’t have to worry about running out of fresh clothes.
Dishes
Having a system for dishes can really help your kitchen look less cluttered. First off, you always want to unload the dishwasher as soon as possible, but especially before a meal. If you can keep the dishwasher empty, then you and your family won’t have an excuse to let dishes pile up in the sink. Get into the habit of putting dirty dishes straight into the dishwasher.
Leave Shoes at Door
Lots of dirt and grime gets brought into your house through shoes that don’t get taken off. Make it a rule that everyone needs to take their shoes off at the door. Any mud, leaves, or other filth will stay by the door and keep the rest of your home looking spotless.
