Bullet journals are kind of a big thing these days. Even with all our devices at our fingertips, many of us still like writing things down and using physical planners or notebooks to stay organized. Bullet journals are one of those things that, once set up, are super easy to use. Here are 10 bullet journal tips and hacks that will help you keep your life organized.
1. Weekly Log
Have some things you need to get done this week, but the day you accomplish them can be flexible? Or do you need to see the bigger picture before deciding what tasks to assign to which days? Keeping a weekly log can help you get the bird’s eye view you need to keep your week organized.
2. Washi Tape Markers
Washi tape looks great, and it’ll help you create tags or markers to keep events, daily tasks, and goals separate and easy to identify.
3. Break Up Your Days
You can keep your days organized if you split your tasks and appointments up into morning, afternoon, and night. Decide what tasks you’ll accomplish when, and your days will be more manageable.
4. Goal Tracking
Use your bullet journal to lay out all your goals for the year. You can even decide which month you’ll complete them or set up some reminders of what you should be working on.
5. Year at a Glance
Set up a year at a glance page and mark events (like birthdays, trips, and holidays) with color codes and / or shapes, so you can take a quick look and remind yourself what’s coming up.
6. Form New Habits
Have a goal to exercise every day or develop another personal habit? Use your bullet journal to track that particular goal (or a set of them) for the whole year.
7. Track Your Finances
Your bullet journal is the ideal place to keep track of your finances. From when bills are due to paying down debt and setting a budget, you can get control over your money before it controls you.
8. Sleep Better
Creating a sleep log can motivate you to get to bed on time and get plenty of shut-eye. Use the data from your phone or fitness tracker, or simply record the times you go to bed, when you get up, and how you sleep. You can also use your bullet journal to pinpoint habits that might be affecting your sleep.
9. Chore Lists
Checking off chores can help you stay motivated to keep your house in order. Set just a few items a day and stick to the plan, and your house will never become a pig sty again!
10. Keep a Reading List
Can’t seem to remember that book you know you were excited to read? Keep a reading list in your bullet journal. You can do the same thing for movies. Write the titles down and even schedule them for when you’d like to finish, so you can move onto the next one.
