Everybody loves chocolate, but nobody loves chocolate stains. No worries, though, I know how to clean chocolate stains from clothes.
You probably didn’t reach adulthood without learning a thing or two about stains and how to remove them. And sadly, one of the world’s most perfect foods — chocolate — is also one of the most difficult stains to remove. Why? Because with chocolate, you simply can’t use the usual stain removal methods (which usually begin by dabbing or rubbing). In fact, treating a chocolate stain the traditional way will usually make the situation worse.

How To Clean Chocolate Stains From Clothes
DO NOT immediately flush the chocolate stain or rub it with water or soap. You’ll most likely end up spreading the chocolate around. Instead, begin by scraping as much of the chocolate off as you can, using a butter knife or business card.
Now you can flush the stain, but don’t do it the usual way. Instead of flushing from the front of the stain, you need to turn the item inside out and flush from the back using COLD water. Flushing from the front will only drive the chocolate further into the fibers. Your goal is to flush it further out, so work backwards here. Get as much out this way as you can.
3. Rub & Soak
Now that you’ve scraped and rinsed off as much as you can from the back, you’re ready to rub. Get your favorite dish soap or laundry detergent and go to town until the area is saturated with the sudsy goodness. Once you’re satisfied you’ve done what you can there, soak the stain in COLD water — not hot — for about 15 minutes. During this time, re-rub the stain every few minutes.
4. Use Stain Remover
After this process, you might have a little bit of that chocolate stain left. Now is the time apply your favorite laundry stain remover. Follow the directions on the bottle (which usually say to let the stain remover sit on the stain for a while), then launder as usual.
Now there is no reason to worry about eating chocolate, even if you are wearing your nicest clothes. Go ahead, indulge!
